SANJIESAN LORE / BUYING GUIDE

Choose a browser map plan for the release you intend

The subscription with more artwork is not automatically the subscription suited to a book release. Inkarnate’s official FAQ distinguishes its map plans, including commercial-use provisions. Read the current plan and terms for your intended use before paying; an export-resolution headline does not answer every release question.

Describe the actual release in one paragraph

State whether the map will stay in a private campaign, appear inside a sold book or be delivered as commissioned artwork. Include who creates it and who receives the finished file. Then identify which of those uses the current plan explicitly addresses. Do not assume a plan name such as Creator grants every commercial permission. If a collaborator supplies custom artwork, ask about that artwork separately rather than expecting the mapping subscription to clear it.

Evaluate an export at the publication size

Build or obtain a small representative map with labels, a textured coastline and two visually similar symbols. Place an exported image into a sample page at the intended size. Inspect whether the labels remain readable and the symbols remain distinct. A larger pixel count will not rescue labels designed too small. Since the official FAQ describes an online editing workflow, also consider when you will need connectivity and what finished files you can keep locally.

Ask what happens after the project ends

Before choosing a billing interval, ask what remains accessible after a downgrade or cancellation: finished exports, editable maps, custom art and any release permissions relevant to your work. Check the current answer in the official terms and keep the version relevant to your decision. The pricing page may require JavaScript; use the live official account flow to confirm the exact offer rather than relying on an old screenshot or a third-party comparison.
