SANJIESAN LORE / BUYING GUIDE
Choose a terrain generator for editable geography, not instant canon
A generated continent is a starting point, not an automatic answer to a story’s geography. ProFantasy presents Fractal Terrains 3+ as a world generator with terrain editing and export options. Consider it when repeated geographic exploration is the task, then test whether you can preserve the places your story already requires.
Choose three constraints before generating
Write a short brief requiring a coastal city, a mountain barrier and an inland destination. Decide which relationships are fixed and which remain open. During evaluation, ask whether you can move or reshape terrain while keeping those relationships understandable. A dramatic random result may be unsuitable if every useful revision requires starting again. Do not let a pleasing coastline silently displace a journey that earlier chapters already establish.
Check the specific export you will use
Identify whether the next stage needs an image, a height-oriented data route or a map for another named application. Read the current export documentation and inspect a representative sample in the receiving workflow. A screenshot is not an editable terrain file. If the tool offers generated climate or river features, treat their assumptions as something to investigate; visual detail alone does not validate every environmental relationship for your fictional world.
Budget for revision rather than repeated novelty
Save one candidate and make a planned change to it: adjust the chosen pass or alter a bay without replacing the whole world. Evaluate how understandable and reversible that edit is through the available trial or demonstration route. Verify current platform requirements and what the base purchase includes. A generator is worth considering when it supports your decisions after generation, not merely when it supplies many different silhouettes quickly.
