SANJIESAN LORE / BUYING GUIDE

Choose an environment asset expansion for a consistent map style

An expansion pack can look attractive alone while requiring a different base set or visual language. Forgotten Adventures describes its Aquatic expansion as designed to work with its Core Mapmaking Pack and marks it subscriber-only. That makes the dependency and access route important parts of the decision, not details to discover after purchase.

Build a three-object comparison

Choose an object already used in your map, an object you want from the expansion and one surface they will share. Compare their viewing angle, edge treatment and assumed light direction in the available previews. A top-down object and an oblique object may not combine naturally even if their colours match. If a preview does not show the necessary detail, ask for clarification rather than claiming compatibility from a small promotional image.

Identify the actual dependency and access

Check whether the desired material is a standalone download, an add-on requiring another pack or part of a subscription library. List only the missing dependencies needed for your scene. Ask what files are available, how updates are delivered and what access remains under the current arrangement. Do not assume a directory marked subscriber-only offers the same purchase model as a one-time asset store, or that every item in the catalogue is included.

Confirm the intended published use

Describe your intended output to the provider: a private reference, a flattened map in a setting book or editable files handed to collaborators. Ask which current terms cover that use and whether separate assets may be redistributed. No licence conclusion or download test is made here. If the pack would force a complete redraw of otherwise suitable work, compare that effort with making a few original objects before choosing the expansion.
