SANJIESAN LORE / BUYING GUIDE

Choose map assets at the scale of the scene

A room-scale table, a town building and a regional settlement icon can all be called map assets while serving different drawings. Fix the intended view before browsing a pack. The useful purchase is the one that fits the map’s job and visual language, not the collection with the greatest number of unrelated objects.

Name the viewpoint and symbol role

Describe whether the drawing is top-down room planning, a settlement illustration or a regional overview. Use an existing approved map fragment as a comparison reference if you may use it. The 2-Minute Tabletop catalogue separates map assets and application-specific packs, with room and environment subjects. Inspect the selected pack preview rather than assuming every asset in the directory is a world-map symbol. A detailed table may be useful in a tavern plan and meaningless at the scale of a whole kingdom.

Check files and style together

Ask what files are supplied, whether they are independent images or an application pack, and which exact version or import route is required. Check the displayed line weight, shadow direction and colour treatment against the surrounding map. A compatible file may still look out of place. Plan a small sample containing one existing symbol and one proposed addition, without claiming that this article downloaded or tested the pack. Read the current usage terms for the intended private or published output.

Choose a relevant subset

Make a short list of the objects this scene genuinely lacks and compare it with the pack contents. Do not buy a large bundle solely to obtain one uncertain item; ask for clarification when the preview does not establish it. Distinguish independent images from application-specific packaging so you do not pay twice for equivalent artwork in an unsuitable form. Keep the seller page and a source note with imported assets. If the map needs only a few simple symbols, compare the effort of drawing those originals with adapting the purchased pack.
